How Healthy AM works

Two paths share one door. Members ask for support; mentors train to give it. Every step on both sides, in order. Nothing left to guess.

If you’re a member

  1. Sign in with Discord.

    You need to be a verified member of the AsianMasc Discord. We read your roles to know what to show you.

  2. Start an intake.

    Five questions: what brought you here, what’s going on, what you’d most like to change, what you’ve tried, and what support looks like for you (1:1, group, just to talk). Two minutes.

  3. A Healthy AM lead triages.

    Lead reviews your intake, tags urgency, and assigns to a trained mentor whose schedule and style fits. You’ll usually hear back within a day or two.

  4. Private Discord thread opens.

    Your mentor opens a private thread with just the two of you and posts a primer. Pace, depth, and ending are up to you.

If you’re training to be a mentor

  1. Apply.

    Short form: motivation, any relevant experience, availability. Healthy AM leads decide.

  2. Six training sessions over a few weeks.

    Pre-readings + reflection in-app. Live sessions on Discord. Topics: motivational interviewing, behavioural change, safety & empowerment, group facilitation, intakes, role-plays, balancing problem-solving with listening.

  3. Role-play and reflect.

    Sign up to facilitate, play the client, or observe. Written feedback after each round.

  4. Graduate, take intakes, facilitate a group.

    After Session 6 and a final observation, a lead promotes you to Mentor. Your role syncs to Discord automatically.
